National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Caribou, Maine

TranSystems designed and engineered the Caribou Weather Forecast Office, which gathers weather data in the American northeast. The new facility is the most energy efficient, environmentally sound facility in the National Weather Service. AWARDS: Certified LEED 2.0 Silver by the U.S. Green Building Council; part of the Federal Energy Management Program's "You Have the Power" campaign; selected as a 2003 Federal Energy Save Showcase Facility, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL); Honorable Mention, White House Closing the Circle Awards.
