Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE)

NAVFAC Southwest - Desert IPT

Project Summary

NAVFAC Southwest - Desert IPT, Travis Air Force Base, California

The base required a new Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) shop to provide maintenance for more than 800 pieces of critical aircraft support equipment. The new facility will support new C-17 missions scheduled to commence at the base in 2008. TranSystems’ design work included a 19,000 sq ft shop building with 20 maintenance stalls in a high bay area served by a five-ton bridge jack crane. Also provided were  equipment staging yard, an employee parking lot, and the relocation of a three-dispenser fuel island.  To simplify logistics, the 5.5 acre site is located adjacent to the flight line.
