Project Summary

TranSystems provided complete design services for a new 101,700 sq ft, two-bay maintenance hangar for C-17 and KC-10 aircraft at Travis AFB.  Each bay is provided with a five-ton bridge crane and a clear height of 85 ft.  The six-panel hangar door provides a clear opening 192 ft wide and 66 ft high.  The state-of-the-art hangar is provided with high bay HID lighting, radiant heating and ventilation, and an above-hanger, high expansion foam system. Sustainable components make the facility compliant with Air Force Silver, and the xeriscape landscape architecture features climate-responsive planting.
