Replace Piers 44-51 & Quaywall

NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic

Project Summary

NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia

NAB Little Creek is the largest base of its kind in the world. TranSystems was selected to design and oversee construction of Piers 45 through 51 at the base, along with 2,800 linear ft of new quaywall. Before the six small-craft piers can be constructed, eight deteriorating smaller piers will be demolished. The new and upgraded piers will become part of the Navy's overall enhancement of the harbor facilities to service its new class of barges and small craft, such as the Dock Landing Ships which support amphibious operations onto hostile shores.
