Project Summary

The Powder River Basin (PBR) initiative is part of the BNSF Railway’s ambitious program to increase capacity from Wyoming to Nebraska. The additional capacity will enable the railroad to meet the freight rail service demands of customers in the coal, agriculture and industrial product markets. TranSystems is working on many projects in the railroad’s PBR program, including the expansion of the existing mainline track between Anselmo and Linscott, NE. The scope of services includes preliminary and final civil and structural engineering design, surveying, environmental permitting, bid assistance, right-of-way acquisition, cost estimating, and project management. Preliminary and final civil and structural engineering design, surveying, environmental permitting, bid assistance, right-of-way acquisition, cost estimating, and project management to construct 10.42 miles of second main and 2.4 miles of setout tracks as part of the existing BNSF Railway main track between Anselmo and Linscott, NE. Additional features include three universal crossovers, the extension of seven existing culverts, and one public and eight private at-grade crossings.
