Guaymas Naco Logistics
U.S. importers are diversifying ports of entry for their containerized freight from Asia in order to enhance the reliability of their supply chains. TranSystems was retained to provide a feasibility evaluation of the Port of Guaymas in Mexico as an alternative gateway. Services included a market-sizing assessment, competitor evaluation, and port planning. The project team forecast container volume at Guaymas by applying diversion shares to the target market. The shares were based on input gathered during interviews with shippers and consignees, ocean carriers, railroad intermodal operators, and others with a potential interest in the proposed development.
