To maintain its competitive status as a world-class facility, the Port of Miami embarked on a 20-year, $250 million redevelopment plan encompassing massive infrastructure improvements and security upgrades. TranSystems developed the overall security program and provided management oversight for the initial upgrades, which met the stringent requirements of the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. TranSystems also proposed an integrated Security Operations Center to function as a crisis management nerve center and subsequently won the contract for its design.
