Clark Bridge

Illinois DOT

Project Summary

The Clark Bridge was opened in 1994, and carries US Route 67 over the Mississippi River. The three-span cable stay unit has a total length of 1,360 feet (302' - 756' - 302'), and the bridge has a total length of 4,620 feet. The main towers extend 250 feet above the water, and up to 150 feet below water level. The bridge provides four traffic lanes over a total deck width of 80 feet. The cable stays were constructed in a fan arrangement, converging near the top of each pylon tower. TranSystems performed an in-depth inspection of the bridge with a variety of inspection access systems, including snooper, boom lifts, ladders and boat. Upon completion, the inspection findings and any maintenance and repair recommendations were detailed in a comprehensive inspection and evaluation report.
