Project Summary

TranSystems, as part of a team, provided total design services for the Seismic Analysis and Retrofit Design of the Queensboro Bridge in New York City. The bridge is a major East River crossing between Manhattan and Queens with the main truss being a total of 3,724 feet in length. It carries a total of ten lanes of traffic on two levels. Analyses included creating a finite element model for the main spans and approach spans; geotechnical investigation to accurately model the soil structure interaction; and many others. TranSystems also performed retrofit design and provided construction support.
