Illinois Route 120 Corridor

Lake County, IL

Project Summary

In response to the need for east-west congestion relief in central Lake County, TranSystems performed a Corridor Feasibility Study of Illinois Route 120 from the McHenry County line to Illinois Route 131, including the Grayslake Bypass alignment. The Study enabled the future performance of a Phase I Design Study; determined road placement and character; developed financing plans; integrated roadway design with proposed future land uses; and examined economic development impact. The goal was to work cooperatively with the Corridor Planning Council to address land use, transportation, and economic needs, and to provide a forum for the establishment of a unified corridor vision.
