TranSystems is pleased to announce the addition of Greg Murphy to our Columbus, Ohio, office. Murphy brings 16 years of transportation planning and engineering experience, including four years as Chief of Staff/Assistant Director at the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he co-led the efficiency efforts to redirect $600 million over a six-year period from operations to the Capital Construction Program.
In his new role as Vice President, Murphy will focus on developing new business opportunities and relationships with local public agencies across Ohio, as well as select toll agencies and state departments of Transportation across the country, including in Michigan, Kentucky, North Carolina and Indiana.

Grow, PE, Senior Vice President and States and Municipalities Market Sector Leader. “His leadership, current knowledge of the transportation market and track record of success in both the public and private sectors will prove valuable in continuing to serve our Great Lakes-area clients at a high level, as well as strengthening our national practice.”
Murphy comes to TranSystems from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he served as Assistant Director/Chief of Staff responsible for the agency’s Communications, Innovative Delivery, Chief Legal, Legislative Affairs, and Jobs & Commerce departments. He also led the development and passage of ODOT’s $5.8 billion 2012-2103 and $5.9 billion 2014-2015 biennial transportation budgets, which included Public-Private Partnership enabling legislation; directed the study to releverage the Ohio Turnpike and unlock it’s $1.5 billion of unused value for the northern Ohio major projects; and initiated and implemented Ohio’s first local bridge partnership program in which ODOT paid, funded and replaced over 230 local bridges in four construction seasons.

Murphy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio; a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio; and a Master of Business Administration from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Murphy is registered as a professional engineer in the state of Ohio.
