TranSystems announced the promotion of Walid Antonios to Senior Professional.
Antonios has 21 years of experience in transportation engineering, primarily involving highway and bridge improvement projects. Most recently, his responsibilities have included the management, design and preparation of construction plans and specifications for the Ohio Department of Transportation, nearly 30 county engineers’ offices in Ohio, and several local municipalities. Antonios specializes in the management of projects in excess of $50 million. Projects under his leadership included the Millcreek Expressway corridor rehabilitation and the Rickenbacker Intermodal Connector.
Antonios’ promotion was part of an annual process determined by the firm’s Partner Performance and Development Committee (PPDC) – a committee that was formed in 2003 to refine TranSystems’ leadership development standards by identifying a process for selecting the company’s future leaders.
As a nominee for Senior Professional, Antonios was ranked on three measures of performance 1.) client relationships and sales, 2.) management and operations, and 3.) specialized skills or subject matter expertise. Within these measures, employees may declare a specific track they intend to follow – management or technical expertise. Antonios has selected a management expertise/track focus.
“Walid has been with TranSystems for four years during which he has managed more than 40 projects, including many that are high profile,” said Bob Campbell, Principal. “His technical and management skills have led to the successful completion of many TranSystems projects as well as high praise from clients. Combine that with his remarkable dedication to mentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers on his Columbus roadway team, and note the increase in TranSystems’ ability to deliver successful roadway projects.”
Antonios has extensive experience on a variety of design aspects including alternative studies, safety studies, geometric design, interchange design, maintenance of traffic, drainage, right-of-way, and utility relocation.
“I would like to thank the PPDC for my recent promotion to Senior Professional,” said Antonios. “I am honored to be recognized as an emerging leader and mentor at TranSystems, and I welcome the opportunity to do my part to enhance the firm’s ongoing commitment to client satisfaction and the professional development of our staff in the transportation industry.”
Antonios earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
