Environmental Economic Analysis

Regulatory impact analyses are developed so that decision-makers, affected industries, and the public are aware of the potential effects of a new requirement before it is enacted. Our support to public agency regulatory impact analyses ranges from estimating air pollution emissions under different regulatory options to estimating compliance costs, to performing full economic analyses of the various regulatory options. Within the economic analysis spectrum, TranSystems is particularly skilled at evaluating the potential impacts of new regulations on small businesses.

TranSystems employs the emission experts, control strategy analysts, and modelers needed to analyze the impacts of any project. Our staff has provided air pollution emission projections and compliance cost estimates for a number of EPA’s most significant air pollution control initiatives (for mobile and stationary sources). Our analyses have also supported state and regional rules, including the Ozone Transport Commission NOx and VOC model rules that are being implemented now in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. We develop air quality impact statements needed to support environmental impact reporting under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) or similar state programs.
