Land Surveying

A good survey can provide the knowledge of an existing site setting the foundation for successful design and construction. From determining land boundaries and identifying the topography of a site or corridor for building facilities, laying track or roadway, and coordinating utilities to locating obstructions from the land and in the air, TranSystems provides innovative solutions and a customized approach to each project.

Surveying has been an important part of the TranSystems’ services since its founding in 1966. Over the past 43 years, our staff has continued to grow in size and experience. Today, our crews use state-of-the art automatic levels, robotic total station electronic distance measuring equipment, GPS, and electronic field books to complete field survey tasks. Once the field data is collected, we plot it using computers and the appropriate surveying software.
Our services include geodetic and vertical control, property boundaries, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys, preliminary topographic (site and corridor), as-built surveys, route and construction, cadastral surveys, astronomical observations, global positioning (static and real-time kinematic), hydrographic surveys, forensic, field control surveys, airfield obstruction identification, aerial photogrammetric survey, and geo-referenced imagery.

TranSystems serves clients primarily in the rail, aviation, states and municipalities, and federal markets.
