Security Assessments, Reviews and Audits

One of the most critical components in a complete Security Strategy is to understand the current state of the security program, determine the desired end-state and what gaps exist in the current state, and develop a plan of action to close those gaps.

TranSystems provides comprehensive risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments as well as security and emergency program audits and reviews.  Our assessments include areas such as electronic security measures (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, emergency communications, etc.); physical security measures; security policies and procedures; security awareness and security awareness training; security officer deployment, staffing, management, selection, and training; emergency preparedness; emergency response plans; and workplace violence programs.

TranSystems consultants perform “best practices” assessments and are qualified to use a variety of formal risk assessment methodologies. Our staff is experienced in VSAT, a Vulnerability Self Assessment ToolTM, for water and wastewater utilities, as well as the Homeland Security Comprehensive Assessment Methodology (HLS-CAM), CARVER, and Sandia Labs Risk Assessment Methodology (RAM).

Assessment results are documented in a formal written report. For each element of a comprehensive security program the report will document existing conditions and describe the recommended end-state. Recommendations are numbered to facilitate reference and tracking the implementation of accepted recommendations. Most reports contain an extensive photographic record a field conditions.

TranSystems’ Security Team is an independent security consulting and engineering concern that is not affiliated with, nor has any alliance with, security equipment manufacturers, security installation companies, guard companies, investigators, or any insurance companies that would otherwise bias our recommendations and design. TranSystems consultants provide Security Assessments, Audits, and Reviews for a wide variety of clients, including local, state, and federal government facilities; transit agencies; freight rail; intermodal facilities; airports and related facilities; manufacturing, distribution, and warehousing; water utilities; electrical power generation and distribution; oil and gas refining and distribution; telecommunications and data centers; ports and maritime; higher education; and non-profit and cultural.
