Waterfront Planning

Waterfront planning provides a framework for our clients to guide them into the future of waterfront development, whether along rivers, oceans, lakes, or other types of bodies of water. TranSystems has provided maritime planning and consulting for inland and on-dock intermodal container transfer terminals for many of the world’s largest and most productive ports and major shipping lines. Our commitment to the marine sector incorporates all elements of coastal engineering and waterfront development, including piers and wharves, marinas, ferry and cruise terminal architecture, and public waterfront design.

TranSystems has authored strategic port plans for 65 of the 90 deepwater general cargo, container and cruise ports in the US and our firm was among the first to use computer simulation and animation in the maritime and intermodal transportation industries. These simulation software programs allow TranSystems’ engineers to model a facility’s layout and operation to ensure efficiency and maximize throughput capacity.

TranSystems is recognized nationally and internationally for our planning and engineering design capabilities and maintenance programming for port and maritime clients. We augment these services with particular strengths in program and project management, GIS and construction management services. Additionally, our staff knows how to facilitate the regulatory permitting processes for all types of marine projects across the US.
