Utility Coordination

Transportation facilities often share their right-of-way corridors with utilities, including water, sewer, electric power, and gas, not to mention proliferating communications cabling. When improvements to the transportation facilities are made, conflicts with utilities generally arise.

These conflicts constitute some of the most common causes of construction delay-related costs. As transportation specialists, TranSystems’ engineers are experts at detecting and resolving conflicts long before they can adversely impact your project.
TranSystems’ role is to identify these conflicts early in the project design process. This allows us to modify our design where possible, and provides the utility owner sufficient time to plan relocation when necessary. This process begins by notifying utility owners within the project area prior to field surveys.

TranSystems provides utility coordination services to its traditional DOT and municipal sector clients, and as required for other transportation projects.
