I have learned a ton. I started out not knowing much about railroad engineering, and now I am actually leading projects in that field.

My Day

9 – 9:30 AM – Begin the Day

I usually kick things off around 9 or 9:30 AM. I have to have black coffee to wake my brain up before I dive into emails and sort out my to-do list.

9:30 AM – 12 PM – Start on Daily Tasks

Right now, I am juggling a bunch of railroad projects. I’ve got weekly chats with my colleagues and monthly meetups with clients.

12 – 1 PM – Lunch Break

Lunch breaks are a must for me, unless things are super crazy busy.

1 – 2 PM – Meet with Coworkers & Mentors

I am working with folks from all over the company, mostly with the Railroad crew. My project manager’s the one I bug with all my design questions. We are pretty close and stay in touch a lot.

2 – 4 PM – Look at To-Do List & Check-In with Colleagues

My to-do list is all about keeping tabs on how we are doing. I like to stay in the loop with my colleagues so we can all keep our projects on track.

4 – 6 PM – Wrap up Project Tasks

I am looking forward to wrapping up the Pollock 10% project. It is my first time running the show on a railroad design, so it’s pretty exciting.

6 – 7 PM – Sign off

I usually call it a day around 6 or 7 PM. After work, I like to unwind with a stroll to stretch my legs and unplug from screens after a long day.

In The Future

Currently, my focus is on getting my P.E. (Professional Engineer) sorted out.
