My Day
8:30 – 11 AM – Begin the Day
I usually start my day around 8:30 am. The first thing I do is usually check and respond to any emails and gather a rough outline of what project tasks need to be done for the day. I will do my work in Open Roads Designer and prepare exhibits/plans to review on project meetings.
11 AM – 12 PM – Work on Current Projects
I am working on a variety of rail projects and regularly attend coordination meetings between disciplines. I also attend contractor meetings to discuss project constructability problems and solutions.
12 – 1 PM – Lunch Break
I usually always take my lunch unless things are very busy and I need to work through.
1 – 2 PM – Attend Meetings
I will attend monthly meetings for the freight market sector as well as the Rail technical community.
2 – 3 PM – Check in with Mentors
I will check in with my local manager at least once throughout the day as well as project managers. Continue to work on tasks for the day and prepare tasks to be completed the next day.
3 – 5 PM – Continue Working on Daily Tasks
Check in with other disciplines on the project and discuss tasks that need to be completed as well as review tasks that have been completed.
