The thing I love most about my job is being part of a respectful and supportive team. Knowing that every day out in the field will be different from the last. Meeting new people every day and being by their side to support them through the challenges that temporary relocation may bring.

My Day

7:30 – 8:00 AM – Log on and check emails

I typically wake up around 7:30am to plan out what my day will look like. I start responding to emails.

8:00 – 9:00 AM – Catch up on small tasks

I will usually catch up on any small tasks between 8am-9am. If I am out in the field for move day, I will check in with the residents scheduled to move that day and get them prepared.

9:00 – 11:00 AM – Work with the Relocation/Acquisition team

I work with the relocation team and the acquisition team daily. If I am out in the field, I work with property managers, construction crews, moving companies, and the residents that are being relocated.

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Work on current projects

I am constantly working on various relocation and acquisition projects. Currently, I am working on the interview phase of multiple temporary relocation projects in Dallas that will begin this summer.

12:00 – 1:00 PM – Lunch break

When I am out in the field, lunch is whenever I am able to catch a small window between resident moves, somewhere between 11 am-2 pm. I will usually find a nearby restaurant depending on where the property is located or pack a lunch in my cooler.

1:00 – 3:00 PM – Check in with my supervisor and coworkers

I regularly check in with my supervisor, Marett Hanes, and any other relocation specialists working on the same project with me.

3:00 – 5:00 PM – Daily to-dos

Daily, I am communicating with movers, property management, residents, and temporary housing management. Keeping track of all interactions and documents in ProjectOne is also a very important part of the job.

5:00 – 7:00 PM – Log off and hang out at home

I typically finish work between 5 pm-7 pm. Every day looks completely different, so the time I finish up work just depends on what my workday consisted of. After logging off, I hang out with my two cats, prepare dinner, go for a walk, and finish up my day by reading or watching Tik Tok.

In The Future

I am looking forward to kicking off the water main looping project in Murphy, TX this Spring. I am also currently working on getting my real estate agent license and I am also being trained on more acquisition projects.
