TranSystems (formerly WBCM) provided architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, and surveying as part of an on-call services contract with Harford County. The project included the design of a new recreation facility in Churchville.
TranSystems (formerly WBCM) provided complete architectural design plans for the new recreation facility. Program design requirements included a double gymnasium, meeting rooms, a dance/yoga studio, fully equipped exercise room and administrative and storage spaces. The project required TranSystems to obtain site and building permits through Harford County in addition to well and septic permits through the Harford County Health Department. TranSystems provided design, bidding phase, and construction phase services for the phase of the project. TranSystems’ approach challenges included the use of a conventionally steel-framed building for durability of design. The building was designed to be most energy efficient by CI shell design, HVAC equipment, and lighting systems.
