TranSystems is dedicated to providing equity and transparency on all of our projects. Proof of our dedication is our commitment to Community Equity. We are paving the way in the Right of Way (ROW) industry to recognize and address the impact of public agency projects on neighborhoods and communities. Our Community Equity involvement in Houston’s North Houston Highway Improvement Project has been unlike any other right-of-way program administered in the United States. It is intended to serve as a model of the future of major transportation and infrastructure projects that can often disproportionally impact under-represented people or neighborhoods.
Our Community Equity Program in North Houston’s Third Ward assisted the project development team with extensive public involvement within the NHHIP neighborhoods. Our services offered the impacted families and residents with an enhanced level of compassionate care. Our local team of Community Navigators met and coordinated with church leaders, politicians, community leaders, NAACP, and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LALUC) to assure the community was given a voice, and that it was heard. Our sole mission was to provide the additional services needed by these underrepresented communities including workshops and one-on-one training in the areas of homeownership, financial empowerment, health and wellness, access to community services, compliance with Fair Housing laws, and an enhanced level of relocation assistance not normally afforded by traditional right of way consultant teams.
