Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR)’s engineering team set out to convert an existing chassis trailer lot into a multimodal cross-dock facility at the ICTF facility in Carson, CA. This project encompassed a comprehensive series of design and improvement plans, including the construction of several buildings, a transload building dock, and upgrades to utilities, drainage, grading, pavement, and security systems.
The creative project approach fused conventional survey and drone-based aerial LiDAR & imagery to create a detailed existing conditions database. Leveraging the latest survey capabilities paired with TranSystems expertise in LTL and cross-dock facility design, utility services and permitting strategies delivered a comprehensive design on an aggressive project schedule.
